    I almost forgot. We say jagaurundi (sp?) several times as well. They're supposed to be pretty rare.

    I saw one NW of Abilene about 20 years ago. I didn't know what it was but research and photos proved it to be Jaguarundi. That's pretty far north for one.

    A few years back a bow hunter on our lease shot a doe. She took off. He heard some strange sounds. he said like a big cat. He went to look for the deer. Found drag marks. blood every where. This is what he found. mountain lion 017.jpg I have more pics, I showed the pics to a wildlife game biologist that works for TPW. He said mountain loin no question. He even filed a report with TPW with the pics I gave him. Whats amazing is how fast the cat ate almost both hind quarters off the deer is such a short time. In the pic, on the other of the neck there is a hole about the size of a soft ball where the cat ripped the flesh away trying to kill the deer.

    If you don't think there are cats in east Texas you don't hunt very much!
