AR build kit

I have been looking at possibly getting one of the build kits from Palmetto. I just want to make sure I know what I’m getting and what I will need. If I understand correctly, I could get one of those kits and one of their stripped lowers and put together a complete rifle. If that is correct, would I have to have both the kit and the stripped lower sent through a licensed FFL? Didn’t know if I would need to figure in 2 transfer fees to see what I would actually be paying.

Only the stripped lower shipped to FFL, everything else comes to you

The lower is the only part that needs an FFL.

You might be better off sourcing a lower somewhere else considering FFL fees and shipping.

Every other part of an AR can be shipped right to you.

And yes, a rifle build kit plus a lower makes one rifle.

One built lower can house an infinite number of suitable uppers. The lower is the rifle so if you own 1 lower and 100 uppers you have one rifle.

AR pistols are the same way but do not own only a rifle lower and have pistol (short barrelled) uppers. That makes an illegal combination.

A pistol lower and rifle upper is legal.

A PSA kit and a stripper lower, PSA or another maker, is all you need to complete the rifle or pistol. The lower is the part with the serial number so it will need to be shipped to your FFL. Or, you can buy a lower locally.

And, if you're not already on a list, you're doing something wrong.
