Spend at least 200 on whatever optic- that's on the cheap end. I do really like irons. They're so accurate for me at 50yds, not confident past 50 because of the front post size. Stay with irons for 6 months and see if you really need to spend cash on optics. Watch the nutnfancy videos on YouTube for more opinions on specific optics.
I started out with a used Primary Arms 1-4x scope. Liked that, got their new 1-6x and really like that one. Also got their Micro on my AR pistol to save weight.
Training - Aimpoint T-1 or H-1.
Hunting - Whichever quality variable power scope such as Nightforce, Schmidt & Bender, Swarovski, etc. suits your hunting needs.
Use high-quality QD mounts such as LaRue or American Defense for both, swap as needed.
I strongly suggest you don't use a scope for tactical training. A scope could slow you down and possibly disorient you shooting offhand at close ranges. Use a quality red dot or Eotech reflex sight for that and a scope for hunting. Use QD mounts that retail their zero so you can swap between the two optics.
