Firearms Training Plus? They used to be next to EZs at 410 and Bandera... They shut down some time ago. I thought I saw "Hoot's" truck on the highway the other day (had all that advertisment on it). I lioked that place, it was small but I felt it was a pretty good place. Anyone have any insight on those kats?

    Helotes!
I stopped by there once years ago, but don't recall much about the place. It seems like they disappeared shortly afterward.

We've lost a few shops over the past years (Ho Guns being the other one, just inside 410 on Culebra), which I always hate to see.

As for FTP, I don't have a clue as to whatever happened to them...

Tough part of town to do business in. Even start-up Mexican Restaurants can't make a go of it for more than a few years.

Now if you are part of a national chain, or a big-time car dealer, you can run the little guy off and dominate the real-estate market.

Just the way socialists like it.

    Be well.

Unless you knew he was there, you wouldn't know it. I'm a police officer in that area and I didn't know about it for a while. Just happened to be walking the shopping center.

Hoot taught me to shoot! Back in '97 I wanted to learn how to shoot handguns and was referred to Firearms Training Plus. Hoot gave me some lessons and then we went to his "private" range. The range was in Helotes and I think it later was sold to Aguila (are they still there?). Hoot then ordered my first cowboy revolvers, a pair of polished stainless steel Ruger Vaquero's in .357 with the white Ruger grips...boy those were pretty!!
