Any USPSA guys around Houston or Austin?

Been gone for a while from TGT but back in Houston for almost, geez, 2 years now. Started shooting 3 Gun for a bit but too damn expensive so I switched over to USPSA. Anyhow, anyone else around these parts shoot USPSA? I've been going down to Area 59 in Rosenberg for the past few months, really nice range with great stages.


Hoping to make it to Oil Field in September, already booked in for the Louisiana Gator Classic in October!

Been shooting w/ BAPS @ PSC for several years now... really competitive group, and some really nice folks.

Wanting to try out Area 59, too!

Pre-K - I'll ping you when the next match comes around, it's always the 2nd Saturday, will be 8/13 next month. I've been wanting to shoot at BAPS as well, just haven't made it out yet.

Well, I'll invite you as long as you don't shoot a damn open gun. Lordy those things are loud and obnoxious! Haha

Edited to Add "Or Austin", I've got family in Elgin so it would be an easy sell to drop the wife & junior at the grandparents house for a nice day of visitation.

Zinc - Thank you! I've found most of the matches around Houston & Austin. Just trying to see if any other TGT'ers shoot competitions.

Cam - He is an active comp shooter alright, I've spoken to him through over forums before.

There are several. Mreed is one. I will shoot USPSA at Shiloh but life has kept me away from any competitions for a few months. I am hopeful of restarting at Shiloh first Thursday of August.

I shoot IDPA and USPSA at Shiloh on Thursdays. USPSA matches are the 1st and last Thursday of each month, the middle Thursdays are IDPA.

I did. All the stages are ran out of a single bay. It was okay I guess. First wknd since May I could shoot so really had no other choices.

How competitive is Area59? I didn't see any names I recognized on the last IPSC match results, so I can't get a feel for it.

Just talked to Ogie re: AREA59... 7 stages in about 4 hours with close to 200 rounds sounds like a good match! Looking forward to this Saturday morning.

PS. They go hammer down at 8:30am during the summer.

BAPS is cancelled this weekend due to weather.

Area59 was great last weekend!

Glad Area 59 was a good one, I couldn't make it. Won't be shooting the Area 5 or oilfield either unfortunately.

They are not a true 3 gun club yet. But it's getting better! I sold my shotgun and accessories so no go for me.

Funny bc I'm the one that bought your M3K. I ended up not going. It looked like hammer down was at 8am and it's a 80 min drive for me. Someone last night told me they used 4 bays and I decided to sleep in till noon. IMO I made the right choice

There's a place in Conroe that has a match every other Sunday evening. I know they shot last Sunday. I'll have to find the name of place.
