I haven't yet gotten the dies for my 223 and a couple there calibers yet. I read about the RCBS X-Dies which say that you size the brass first. Then you take off .20 off take the max size and you won't have to resize the brass anymore.

This interests me because I've always thought that having to trim the brass would be such a nuisance.

Yes, both .308 and 5.56 and I highly recommend them. I will say get the small base xdie if you use milsurp brass. They really do a great job, but you have to keep track of your brass and cannot change your die once you set it so if you have "lots" it's a pain.

I trim brass so seldom that it's hardly worth considering. Mainly, I length trim brand new brass. If the brass has been used enough to flow and that causes an over length condition, I've usually scrapped it long before for other reasons.

I bought the RCBS power trimmer and, again, it's used very infrequently. It's a great machine, but I don't see a lot of use for it. If the cases are below the maximum length, I leave them alone. My days of making them all the same length are over!

I do take care that all of the case necks are properly chamfered and the primer pockets are, too. That's 100%.
