Back in the 90's, I sent several Marlins back to the North Haven, CT plant for restocking and refinishing. Here's a '65 39A that was restocked and reblued by Marlin and came out quite nice. It wears an old Denver-made Redfield 3/4" 4X that fits the dainty receiver of the little Marlin.

Very nice, they did a great job on that one.

I have my Dad's old 39A (from 1950) and although its looks aren't perfect, it shoots lights-out.

I still have a 39 and a 39a that I got as a teenager, wouldn't even think of parting with them. Great, consistant, and reliable.

Super nice 39A. I too have my Dad's which is circa 1967. Since Marlin is now Remington, do they still do restock work like that?

No, unfortunately. It's too bad, because they did really nice work and the prices for rebuild/refinish were a bargain. I also had this 336 done about the same time (factory restock/reblue).
