i have an older 16g Remmy 870 and i was wondering if i could easily switch it to 12g but just using a new barrel or if this is even possible. any info or tips would be greatly appreciated

IF it is an older version it was built on a 12 ga frame and has a 12 ga mag tube on it. You would need a 12 ga bolt, barrel, shell stops. However since the 16 was made in far smaller numbers than the 12 ga they usually command a premium price. You would be much better off to trade the 16 for a 12 and some boot.

Cool thanks for the tips guys. i love this 870 but i want a shorter barrel for HD and the 16ga ammo is harder to come by around here.
