I would have posted this a couple weeks back, but have been side tracked.

Ronnie was my wife's grandfather. We still drive over to Hallettsville periodically to lay flowers on his grave. By all accounts, he was well liked and respected.

I remember when this happened. I was 10 years old. My grandmothers nephew was the Sheriff of San Patricio County at the time so Sherrif Dodds murder was a big deal to him. RIP Mr. Dobbs!

Thanks for the link LH. I've driven down that section of highway lots of times but never researched why it's dedicated to him. It's literally 20 minutes down the road from my house.
