It comes down to the user.My understanding is that some folks found they couldn't handle the 40 well enough but could do fine with the 9mm. In addition, article after article keeps telling us that modern bullet design is closing the gap in effectiveness. I personally look at it like modern bullet tech isn't only used on 9mm ammo, which means a 40 using similar design parameters and materials would still be more effective. That's just my opinion.

HiPower Standard model, blued, wood gripsWhat model is it? If it's one I am interested in I will get back with you.
I started to like the .40 back during the ammo drought after Sandy Hook. It was still plentiful and it was all that I shot for a good while.
Plus LEO trade-ins can be bought for cheap online or at Gt Distributors.

Really I haven't been there in a few months now so I don't know what they have. I do remember the .40 P229 and P226 were around $330-$350. The price was the same for the DAK models.Texasgordo,
Haven't had time to go to GT lately. = What have they got right now in .40 S&W & at what prices??
(The Sig 229 at 299.oo from an on-line vendor looks pretty OK to me.)
yours, satx
Aren't they the same thing?I skipped .40 and went to liking 10mm instead.
In simple diameter but not case length, projectile mass or powder load. The 10mm is much more powerful.Aren't they the same thing?
