I picked up these 4 rifles from a friend a few weeks ago, he was going to trash them and I convinced him to let me work on them before he tossed them onto the garbage pile. He told me I could have them if I wanted them and good luck in getting them in shooting condition again.

After cleaning them all up it seems most of the rust was only on the surface, there is some pitting on the winchester and the Marlin 60. I think overall after some major refinishing and maybe reblueing all of them will be nice additions to the collection. The Stevens is in the best overall condition and the Winchester is in the worst.

They were kept in the bottom of a closet that was flooded with a water leak. Wet blankets were on top of them and carpet underneath... not a good combo for a firearm!

    Gezzz what a shame!

Looks like you're about to become a member of the "Save the Squirrel Foundation"... congratulations!

...And what? ...they were left in the bottom of that closet for the last 20 years? Now if that isn't the hallmark of our "disposable" society, I don't know what is. Hate to see guns in that kind of shape.
