Cimmaron Plinkerton. Full size but easy to handle.
It'll last plenty long also without breaking the bank.

My nephew really digs his Ruger Bearcat I got him for his 10th birthday. It's "downsized" and fits him rather well.

Ruger Bearcat. The single action would be perfect.

Good job on teaching them young. I my little girl was 5 when I put her behind a marlin youth 22. Sandwich bag of 22's on the side. Bipod to hold it up. You would think you just asked her to leave a toy store telling her the ammo is almost gone.

Maybe a Heritage, they rust easy but I picked one up years ago that my dad uses now. He let it rust all to hell but after a little oil and some steel wool it was up and running again.

    Also single action.

Only two .22 LR revolvers can be considered a "slam dunk" for youths.

    (1) Ruger Bearcat.

    (2) Ruger Single-Six.

Taurus makes some fine .22 LR revolvers, but they are a bit larger in the hand.

If you want a revolver instead of a pistol, Academy usually runs those Heritage single action .22LR six guns for about $100 on black Friday each year.
