Shopping around for a new scope to put on my Savage 93R17 BTSV. I started with a cabelas ridgeline which was good, but the parallax is insanely picky. I can put a plain ole bushnell hunting scope on it and shoot great groups, getting 1.5" at 75 yards with the Cabelas scope.

I'm looking for something with raised turrets, mildot or similar graduated reticle is a plus. Adjustable magnification that goes to at least 12X.

Leaning towards a Sweet 17 right now just because I can pick one up for $50 and I've heard good things. Interested in what others are running.

Use: Target and hunting. Possibly in low light/spotlight.

YG, where are you finding a Sweet 17 for $50? I've only ever seen them at $100+.

    SWFA.com.

The side focus model is $125, the older style with the objective mounted focus is $49.

Warn me if I stumbled on to something that's about to get a rush, lol.

I have a BSA Sweet 17 on my Savage. Not the best glass, but functional. It's a bit fuzzy at 18x.

Sent from a B-52 flying over Russia.

How accurate are the range markings. I've always been a little skeptical of marked turrets and BDC reticals. Course, not near as many bullet variations with the .17. Mostly just different rifles.

I have the sweet 22 and the turrets on it work surprisingly well. Not perfect but not far off with the loads I've tried it on (usually no more than a click or two off the marking).

Screw it. I ordered the BSA with focus on the objective.

Worst case, it will go on the 10/22.

Yes I have 5 HMR's three have Zeiss 6.5x20's, one a Leupold 4x12 and one with a BSA 6x18 sweet 17. The later is like looking through a coke bottle compared to the others.
