This looks like a pretty cool SHTF. 22.

I got the email announcement from Ruger on this new rifle yesterday. A 10/22 with a wire folding stock almost achieves the same goal, but doesn't come with the nifty backpack. For that reason, I have to have it. :)

Guessing this will be like the SR1911; hard to find and overpriced when you do. Ruger keeps making guns everyone wants and can't keep up with the demand. If they could get the supply and demand relationship corrected they sure would get a lot of my money.

Actually I think the BC stock is a better option, not only can it be just as compact, but the rifle can still be fired in its compact state, AND you can use any barrel you like. I have a 16" on mine.

Even though I don't need the take-down, it's always good to see them offer another variation.

I will be waiting till they can be had for less than MSRP.

Ruger has announced they are no longer processing commercial orders for the time being. I don't foresee the price coming down. As a dealer myself, I can tell you these are already out of stock through wholesalers.

As cool as that looks, I don't get the functionality it brings. Okay, two pieces that are smaller. But it's not like you're going to use it as a concealed weapon, or make it that much easier to transport to the the range or field.

    What is the attraction?

Survival weapon, now fits in a backpack in about 2 seconds...

Okay, perhaps that's an application, although a full sized 10/22 is not a big issue as far as carry. I don't see one in my future though. But hey, if you like it and think it will work, go for it.

Yeah, would work well for camping and what not too. I think it has a lot of applications being able to pack it away quickly for transport..
