So I have had multiple people inquire about an inexpensive 1 day medical class due to ammo and other normal training costs that prohibit them from attending our 2 day Tactical Medicine course. Well, here it is: First Aid/Trauma Management August 10th from 9AM-5PM in Austin, TX! Austin Self Defense is hosting at their location at Lakeline Mall area. If you are an instructor or carry a gun on a daily basis, then there is not a legitimate reason to not have some basic medical training. This training is more apt to be used to save a life than anyone ever using a gun. You do not pick when something bad is going to happen, it picks you! We have taken our 2 day Tactical Medicine course and dropped the range portion to give everyone the chance to learn simplistic, yet life saving skills that could be used to save yourself, a family member, or an everyday citizen. Don't be like the "sheep" that sit and watch someone bleed to death waiting for help to arrive. (YES, that happens on a regular basis as I have personally seen it when arriving to trauma related calls over the last 20 years) Seats are limited to only 20!!! So email or call to sign up. The First Aid & Trauma Management class is geared towards keeping yourself, family members, or others alive when traumatic injuries are encountered in a real life emergency. The class covers the basics of pre-hospital emergency first aid skills in relation to potential life and death injuries. From recognizing injuries to the initial treatment until help arrives, seconds can make the difference between life or death. This an in-depth, hands on class that brings the reality of how to manage life threatening injuries into a simple and effective process. Come learn simple skills that can truly make the difference in saving a life.
Topics & Methods covered:
* Physiological and Psychological reactions to stress
* Proper mindset when dealing with trauma
* Basic anatomy & physiology
* Basic medical verbiage
* HABC’s Hemorrhage, Airway, Breathing, & Circulation
* Proper set up & use of Individual Medical Kits (IMK)
* Basic first aid and wound care including the use of tourniquets
* Identification & treatment of injuries
* Familiarization & application of various medical devices
* Hands on scenario training & application of skills learned
* All classroom material and hands on applications will take place in a comfortable indoor environment
This is the perfect class if you have NO prior training! Come get educated as the life you potentially save, could very well be your own.

* Extra pair of old pants & shirt (They will probably not make it home)
