During the recent decades, we have seen the growth and increasing boldness, of several Medical outfits which have appointed themselves as American Medicine’s public spokesmen in union with the leftist media’s anti-2A sentiments.
I keep hearing references to the American Medical Association or “AMA”.
The AMA is no longer any representative of the sentiment of most U S Physicians.
When I was young, AMA membership was something expected of legitimate Physicians. But, it, like many other semi-political outfits, was taken-over by leftiists in the 1970’s & ‘80’s. Since this, AMA membership has shrunk from some 93% to the last admitted 17%, and many of us suspect that it is less than 10% today.
Yet, AMA Officials continue to speak as though they carry the authority of consensus, which is just another form of LIE. Indeed, bureaucrats & media parrot their proclamations as though they were still relevant. But they are NOT, indeed, today’s “AMA” is just a sad joke.
Just so y’all know, the ONE area in which the AMA retains any power is that they are authorized by our leftist bureaucracy as the ONLY official source of “codes”, the numerical designations of disease conditions, injuries, and the medical procedures used to treat them. For these constantly-changing “codes”, the DHS pays the AMA absurd amounts of public money, and the AMA remains their lapdog.
Most of today’s Physicians have lost respect for the AMA, and see no reason to join it.
If you noticed, the number of those code designations has grown massively, with new “diagnoses” devised annually. Ever wonder WHY ? The codes are necessary for the many Physician and non-Physician “practitioners” to be PAID by third parties such as medicare, medicaid, or health insurance.
Of course the ultra-leftist American Academy of Pediatrics, anther anti-2A group, is right on-board with all this.
My advice is to ignore them and their advice. If any Physician or “practitioner” asks you about guns; just look em in the eye and say: ”That is none of your damned business!’
Don’t be shy with them. And, never hesitate to get a new, different, Physician as needed !
