Has anyone owned or shot the Springfield GI they used to make? It looked like a ww2 model. I am interested in searching one out. It’s a bare bones 1911 made by a decent company. I can’t afford the colt repro or originals.

I just like the look of them, zero thrills and possible hammer bite. I am a bit of a masochist.

I have had zero issues with my SA Mil-Spec but a Colt 1911 is on my short list.

I have owned a few Springfield 1911s. No complaints. I just want that specific model. It’s discontinued.

I have owned a few of those. They were OK for what they were. Good reliable shooters for the most part. No Range Officer accurate.

SA's are my go to out of the box 1911's. They take very well to being modified and that is my weakness. I can not leave them stock.

This one has been in here before, but it's a favorite. National Match .45 accurized at FT Benning by the AMU. It'll be one of the last (if not the last) 1911s to leave my safe.

I have an RIA Officers (truck gun), an STI Escort and my new Kimber Aegis Pro. They all shoot well. The STI is great for a 3" BUT the Kimber 4" is absolutely AWESOME!!!

This started out as a Springer Champion. This is the 3rd iteration of this gun which most likely makes it the worlds most invested Champion.
It is a serious runner.

Need a couple more for the extra grips. Wanting a all stainless (maybe a Colt gold cup) for the Indian head grips. The ultra compact is my new carry gun.
