Looking for a smoker, big enough for two or three 20+ pound turkeys. Anybody have a recommendation? Hopefully something I can pick up somewhere near San Antonio? Need to start smoking in 4 weeks.

price gramps? do you want a fire box? on wheels ? dual level grates? ect.. if not i can smoke them for ya.

Under $500, Fire is good, have plenty of mesquite. Main thing is to fit 2 or 3 turkeys, and If you want to, that might could be arranged for this first time if I don't get my own. I'll have 10 turkeys between middle of next week, and the end of the year. Plan to smoke all but one, that one will be traditional bake on T-Day.

    More next year.

the heb, and cabellas, and some of the smokers i have seen are purty, but thin, after the first burn off, seasoning they tend to burn out.
the guy who built mine can build a patio pit(on wheels and handles) for about 650.00 but if you dont find one i will be honored to do them for you

You're gonna have a hard time finding a GOOD one at that price point. Maybe try Craigslist, an' bargain like a 50-cent hooker.<G> Or - go by Sam's and check out the Mastercraft smokers. Got one, and have been pleasantly surprised by its' overall ease of use and the quality of the meats it turns out. Nice thing is, I put the meat in the evenin', let it smoke overnight and remove it the next day - no more gettin' up every coupla hours ta stoke the fire.

I've seen those thin ones, not good. Also, the HEB in Floresville has some made of 'Real steel', but very proud of them, over $1000. I'll talk to Momma about your friends price and will PM you later. If not, I'll PM about maybe you doing the first two. We plan to harvest the first 2 or 3 early on the 20th of July, and hope to have them on heat on the 21st.
