I started out buying primers for $1.00 per hundred.
    Powder was $12 a pound.
    Bullets were the "expensive" part.
I went through a ton of .38 special at less than a nickel a round.
In the 80's I was buying powder in I believe 10 lbs bags.

    Out here by the lake!
Life before UPC codes, where the price gun ruled. I have some Western brand .38’s & .357 that came from Oshman’s that were priced like $3.55 on the 357’s for a box of 50.

I figure the guy that bought a pristine pistol from that era would pony up for the antique ammo to build a display. I add pictures but I have posted them before and I ain’t got out of bed yet.

The last 209 primers I bought were $55 a thousand if you bought 5 thousand, the whole sleeve. Plus shipping and hazmat.

I remember $11 a thousand, CCIs came in wooden trays with the cardboard slip cover, All hunting cartridges were $3.75 to $5 for 20., Model 94s were $83 and Model 70 were $139, but didn't have the money for the factory guns.
