That's is absolutely f'd up. One of my regular off duty sidejobs is a skating rink here. I've worked all sorts of private events as off duty police along with the regular skate nights. The place would be insane if such an event occurred here depending on the night and crowd size on certain night.

Man, I used to go up there and watch the roller derby when I was dating one of the roller derby girls. That's crazy. People are really messed up.

I just now saw this thread. That really ruins a morning to see a headline like this just before the doggone sun comes up!

The shooting call came in at 7:10 p.m. The first officer arrived about 90 seconds later, he said. “It just started raining police,” Brimmer said.
Once four or five officers arrived, they went in, he said. By then, the shooting had stopped.

In most cases of multiple shooting incidents police arrive but wait for back up. Same in Norway, they knew he was shooting and took a hour to go 500 yards to the island. Perhaps a sniper could have taken him out, or drop someone in by chopper or even a boat? 500 yards in a hour? I could back stroke that.

The differernce is troops don't wait for back up, you and I can't wait for backup. Proves again once more Police are not required to protect us. Again 600 people on the island and not one gun by other then the shooter. Shows what happens when they take your weapons away, ask the people of Poland back in 1939.

His 11 yr old son will be screwed up for the rest of his life. Why would you pick this occasion to do something like that?? Radio this morning said it was all planned.

According to the reports I've read the shooter here was done in less than that 90 seconds. Most likely done before the 911 call.

From what I understand of updated active shooter training the police go in much quicker now.

Any Dept. that still has a wait for backup policy for an active shooter should be disbanded.
