@66vette Chill dude. I've about had enough of it in the political threads.

    OK
I'm just trying to educate some people how our adulterated system really works but, a few refuse to wake up. Everyone has the right to believe what they want.
    No problems here.

As a law abiding citizen I have no problem and nothing to hide if I'm pulled over to show both my TCL or DL.
Same here but, sometimes those with holier than thou attitudes think they're exempt from the same laws everyone must abide by & sometimes violate our rights.
In fact, at last count a couple years ago ( stopped counting ) , currently 73 cops & troopers are serving very long jail or prison terms for serious felonies.
What's that saying about karma ?
You never know what kind of person is wearing that uniform.

No, you're just flexing your ego trying to be Mr Expert while throwing insults around. Nobody is impressed.

    No problems here.

If there were no problems here, you wouldn't have received a warning from Robert. Consider that carefully.

As to your other assertions, none of the criminal traffic violations listed require injury to another person. From the website that was linked, they are:

    • Reckless driving (racing, weaving through traffic, tailgating, etc.)
    • Driving under the influence (DUI)
    • Driving while intoxicated (DWI)
    • Hit and run
    • Leaving the scene of an accident
    • Habitual traffic offender
    • Driving with a suspended/revoked license
Tell me, who is injured when someone drives with a suspended license?

I never said all traffic infractions were civil.
Your comprehension skills are worse than a 10 year old.
I said it's only a criminal offense when there's an injured party.

    Bullshit. Your words:

Traffic infractions are NOT a crime, they're a civil matter.
Without an injured party you have NO CRIME.

Maybe you should brush up on your own comprehension skills, especially where your own words are concerned, before insulting other people. While you're at it, brush up on your social skills or your time here being this arrogant will be short and spectacular. I've lost track of the number of guys like you we've seen come and go, providing nothing more than momentary entertainment before they push things too far.

That should be a pound of prevention is worth an ounce of cure.
Even then, the amount of freedom folks give up,they get very little in return except BS from corporate enforcers.

It's sad that people have been so deceived to having a commercial DL & registration to use private property just for personal affairs
Everyone needs to get a law dictionary & learn how to use it..

I learned a lot from being a patrol officer (SGT) in Texas & a short run in Federal Law Enforcement to know the mentality of all the wannabe alpha males who can't think for themselves & don't have the right moral compass to do the right thing.
I know many cops who would have problems with the likes of wakoama's attitude.

And cops wonder why most people hate them.
Bad cops make good cops look bad.
The war on cops has started in the blue states & it will get much worse in the coming weeks & months according to posts I read elsewhere on the internet.
    They reap what they sow.

    .

    .

Most people don't hate cops, but burnt out angry cops often feel that way... most folks understand that even the majority of "bad cops" simply made a mistake, just like bad doctors and bad drivers and bad parents and therefore still respect cops in general.

You like to be argumentative about everything & you are one of the most ignorant on this forum.
You need to grow some brain cells or keep your big mouth shut.
I always say it's better shut your mouth & let people think you're stupid than to........ keep running your mouth & proving to everyone you REALLY ARE stupid.

Traffic infractions alone are NOT criminal.
It's only criminal when other offenses are combined with traffic offenses.
Some of the offenses given were
    • Drug possession
    • Assault
    • Murder
    • Theft

I've been pulled over 2 times in the last 30 years & I always stayed calm & spoke to the officer in a rational manner.
Never been cited & i have never had a driving record in 45 years of driving.

I never said all traffic infractions were civil.

    No injured party = civil..............DUH
    YOU are the ignorant one.......................

That website also proves everything I said is 100% correct.
You can find the same info. in many different places.

Also, Congress in D.C. just passed a law that requires everyone to have a kill switch installed in all cars & trucks by 2025.
Can't get insurance without the kill switch either.
    Have fun with that one.
    Much more in the bill.
    .

The wannabe experts here are the reasons why society is so screwed up & it's going to get much worse in the coming days.
Enjoy your lives while you can.
Everyone should look up COP28 to find out what's in store for you starting Dec. 12,2023
They say humanity only has 7 years left on this planet.
    Have fun with that.

In Texas, violations of Texas Transportation Code are criminal violations hence why you can be arrested for ANY of them

I've seen cops smoking dope & selling drugs recently.
Are they included in your pathetic statement ?

Ignorant people like you should educate yourself.
In Texas traffic offenses are technically a crime, albeit the lowest level. Most are class C misdemeanors. The advantage is that you can ask for a jury trial in either Municipal Court or Justice (of the Peace) Court.

What is NOT a crime in Texas is failing to identify yourself. Unless you are under arrest. In which case you must give your name and date of birth. Though the penalty is also just a class c misdemeanor.

    Fail to ID is:

Class C if you simply refuse to provide full name, Birthday or address when arrested

Class B if you provide a false or fictitious name when under arrest or detention or believed to be a witness to a crime

Enhancement one grade higher if shown at trial you were "fugitive from justice"

The thing folks like vette forget is that you dont get pulled over just to check your ID, you get stopped and cited in lieu of arrest so to write a ticket the cop must know with swearable certainty who is getting the ticket.

Maybe I’m wrong but I can’t help but wonder if first amendment auditors on YouTube had a part in this? There are bad cops out there that do bs stops and plant evidence, but normal cops have a difficult time just asking questions to pick up a lead on any call thanks to this first amendment audit trend. Very obnoxious people.

Bad cops made a mistake ??? What a joke.
They still commit crimes & shows we have a 2 tier system of justice until they're dealt with & serve time.

Obviously you don"t live in the same world as everyone else.
Most people I talk to have no respect for police & for many reasons.
The days of Adam12 is over & now we have militarized enforcers who treat everyone as criminals....... guilty until proven innocent

This proves your thinking is waay off base.
I never see anyone getting arrested for speeding, no turn signal, swerving, etc.
    Try harder next time bub.

Texas Penal Code 38.02 only requires ID if arrested.
Name & address can be determined by running the plates.
You need to stop twisting words & confusing everyone with dribble.

I spent to much time dealing with uninformed people here so I'll just go back to the real world & enjoy my cozy life while you all enjoy the miserable life that is coming shortly. It's going to get really bad after the end of the year.

I don't know. All the YouTube videos I saw the only thing the cops were investigating was the "auditor" who was doing nothing illegal. If a cop walks up to me for no reason and asked for my ID, the answer is no. If they can articulate a reason why it might help with something, I'll consider it, but I'm struggling to see such a scenario.

Before September 2017, there were only two traffic violations for which which a police officer cannot arrest you, the speeding offense (something like 25mph or less over the limit?) and the open container offense.

In 2017 the Texas legislature added a new law to this list. The third offense for which police must issue you a written citation is for a violation of Use of Portable Wireless Communication Device for Electronic Messaging; Offense.

I thought the seatbelt offense was non-arrestable?
(need to look that one up?)

Maybe I'm just another mod making a bad judgement. That's certainly possible.

But I try very hard to be helpful to our members.

So when you say you want to go back to the real world, I'll give you the same reply I give to everyone who expresses that sentiment as a part of a general "F this place!" tirade.

    To wit -

I can help you with that.
