I slipped last week on the smokes. My wife took her life last Wednesday & I bummed a cigarette then was offered a 1/4 pack, next a fuul pack then a buddy brought me 2 packs.

Between crying & talking to more people then normally & the Ragweed counts I'm hacking some serious long oysters. Really feeling sick right now aint a good thing. I'll try & exit the bad habit when the remaing cigarette are gone.
You have my condolences, I'm so sorry. I'll pray for you and your family. :(

I just found this post after reading your post in the dinner thread. Prayers and sorry for your loss.

I'll pray for you and your wife.

About 1 year and 10 months ago my father attempted to take his life. He spent a month in ICU with us thinking he wouldn't make it. I understand your pain. It's terrible.
Everyone just assumed it was the corona when they heard my dad was on a ventilator.

I'm blessed that he made it, and yes i take your advice a bit more often, we should tell everyone we love how we feel more often.

DO NOT entertain the same thoughts that took your wife from this earth. it's weird but after a suicide it's not uncommon for these thoughts to spread. I know i felt them after my father.

    You can do it.

I did it many years ago. Quit cold turkey.
Dumped a really bad habit and got all new friends because I pissed off all of my old ones during the withdrawals!

    Totally worth it though.
    Dont give up!

You gotta keep one eye looking over your shoulder
You know it's going to get harder, and harder, and harder as you get older
Yeah, and in the end you'll pack up, fly down south
Hide your head in the sand
    Just another sad old man
All alone and dying of cancer.

I picked up a respiratory infection that 's got me pretty miserable. It should have me done with the cigarettes & back to over eating in no time.
