Thanks for the slander. There will always be an unsavory element around any military installation, looking to relieve the soldiers of their monthly pay checks. Don't blame the soldiers for what the local CIVILIANS are doing. Whores, pimps, drug dealers, scam artists, and street thugs preying on soldiers.
Is it an EDC piece if you dont actually carry it?I went to an event with my spouse in the 700 Block area of Rancier in Killeen. That is a crazy dangerous area of Killeen. We got out at about 9:00-9:30 PM.
Lots of strange folks around there at night.
One guy with a backpack with machete strapped to it wanted to “ make contact “ so to speak.
I told my naive Filipino spouse to Go Go damn it. She as usual was slow and obstinate.
She is from a rough neighborhood in Mindanao and despite my explanation felt that she could manage things.
Next time one of my EDC pieces will be with me. Killeen is a rough town but even more so around Rancier.
LESSON LEARNED!

They don't prey on soldiers... they provide exactly what they are asked for. It is decidedly mutualThanks for the slander. Downtown Bremerton, Wa. is a cesspool, most the businesses moved to Silverdale miles away. Navy base.Just Army bases. Never had a problem living next to Air Force bases
This is me and my family next to our quarters at Camp Hood in 1946.This place is normal to me.
Born an Army Brat, all I have ever known is Army bases or towns. And never was much wanted by or fit in with a lot of civilians. I can't even remember a "good" civilian friend until I was in my 20s. And at my age and health, I'll die here. I'm good with that.
But I hold no illusions. It's gone downhill the last 30 years. Even some of the ladies at the dog park have been talking about getting armed.
But to be honest, it ain't just here. It's everywhere. The next 10 years is going to be interesting. And probably pretty sporty. If not sooner. Just a question of how and how bad.
Keep your powder dry folks. I'm thinking we'll need it.

You better guess right if you do not carry religiously.EDC is just that, Brother. Every day. All the time. Admittedly, I don’t carry around the house, but I bet if someone broke in, it’d be a gunfight.
I have the fear that the day I don't carry, is the day I needed to.You better guess right if you do not carry religiously.
I hate when I have to go into a courthouse or a K-12 school. It's good to know that my gun at least isn't at home, but I feel naked after I leave my car.I do all the time. I went to a lab to have blood work done, it was in a hospital. I had a Ruger ec9s in my front pocket and paranoid all the time.
