We had a family across the street from us and the 12 year old son was spanked by his dad, using a belt, for running through the house and knocking over several expensive family heirloom glass objects, on purpose, because he was angry with his mother over a decision she made. This kid called the Child Social Services who promptly came and removed the Dad from the house. There were no marks of evidence from the spanking but the kids statement was enough to get the Dad removed for 6 months and he had to take all kinds of court required therapy before returning.
This kid was about the same age as my oldest son and was in our front yard bragging to my sons about what he did and made some very disrespectful remarks about his Dad while laughing about what he did. I walked out, grabbed him by the collar and took him back across the street to his mother and told them both that he was no longer welcome on my property or talking to my sons. When I dropped him off to his mom, I told him had I been his Dad, I would have told him to also call an ambulance because he would have found out what a real beating was. My sons were both appalled that he would do that to his Dad and the mother would not come to the Dads defense.
This Kid quit High School in the 11th grade, so he cannot get a drivers license since he has no diploma or GED, has NEVER worked a day in his life and his mother's defense of this way of life is "He's trying to find himself"!! This kid spends most of his day high from marajuana and now as an adult probably something stronger. Oh he lives with his Grandmother in Austin.......go figure!!
The mom and dad are now divorced. One daughter is a flamboyant lesbian, the other daughter is the only child that came out of this family normal. She is a happily married High School Teacher with two beautiful children. There is another boy who is pretty much worthless as well.
