    This caused some fun a rig I was on once. They got the casing (over 300 joints @ 30' or so each) in for the job and the company man had the hands strap it. The total length of all the casing was off by over 40'. So he had them strap it again with the same results.

    So he had them do it one more time and when he went to strap one himself, he noticed something wrong with the tape - the tip had broken off at some point and the hands had just riveted it back on but missing a quarter inch or so - just like the one above.

    Maybe so, but the angled device is the thing you slam forward when your bolt doesn't go all the way home because your chamber is dirty or full of jungle rot or fouling from the cheap shit ball powder the military now uses to save a few pennies because they don't care if you live or die. Original M16's didn't have them. Alot of American soldiers had to die with jammed weapons back when your daddy had to go to foreign countries and kill the people who lived there before the Democratic administration finally mandated a weapon design change. The bolt assist was added and the milspec barrels were finally given chromed bores and chambers; which Armalite and Colt had originally not included because it was not "cost effective"...
