Actually, you out yourself over compensating and virtue signaling.
It’s only over compensating if it’s not true.

Austin is actually pretty clean compared to SF and LA. Surprisingly so.
Why haven't you been banned?A seriously F'D thread, mostly done by 2 specific PWs.
Why haven't they been banned?
Why haven't you been banned?
Honest question.

Welcome Cali... former Cali myself and I'm glad I left... I could not take how dirty and how bad the crime was. Plus how many people were coming to Cali. I lived out in SB county. All those people in LA were being pushed out to they ended up in SB.
One user asked why you moved here. Well, let me tell you why I moved.
The School system SUCKED, and pushed my little girl threw grades. We later found out she is special needs. TX has an awesome
program for special needs kids. That was my main reason, then crime lazy people, disrespectful people, plus how dirty it was getting.
Trust me when I say I didn't bring any cali THINKING to TX. I like the way the state is. If TX said we were going to WAR, I would for sure signup.
The only thing I haven't found yet around Waco is an outside long-distance range. I would really like to get into long-distance shooting.
Hey man, we both got out!
My escape was literally in the middle of the night. I left at 9:30pm from Orange County and didn't stop until I got to Tuscon. That's how badly I wanted out of that communist hell hole.
Only long distance shooting range near me is Eagle Peak, their rifle range tops out at 300 yards. Pretty decent. But Waco is like an hour and a half away so not sure it's worth the drive for you.
Ah, good to know. Thank you.Eagle peak wont let you shoot FMJ just fyi ;-) so be careful.

Yeah that doesn't make sense. What kind of weak ass berm do they have that FMJ is going to crumble it?@CaliGunner
First rule on rifle ranges
- NO full metal jacket (FMJ) RIFLE ammunition to be fired on the ranges. Hollow-point, soft-point, ballistic-tip, and frangible rifle ammunition all permitted.
I've been there once to check it out. The range is ok but their rule for FMJ on the rifle range is a show stopper for me. I asked the guy behind the counter what the ballistic coefficient on a FMJ versus a HP round was at 300 yards and he just said "FMJ damages the berm" OK... they're idiots that want you to buy expensive ammo to shoot.
Thats a good reason to reload@CaliGunner

Actually, there are manjy conservatives in The People’s Republic of Travis !While Austin is obviously considered the California of Texas, lots of ppl surrounding the area....not so much.
I have the dubious distinction of being born in Cali. However my family is from Tx. And I got here as soon as I could!Hi all,
I recently took a job in Austin and will be moving to Texas in a month.
Yes I'm from California, but don't worry, I'm one of the Pro-2A guys who is escaping from the socialist republic of CommieFornia. I'm part of the CalGuns community, CRPA, NRA-ILA, and have made regular donations (with little positive effect on my 2A rights unfortunately).
I made the decision to move last year after visiting a gun store in Dallas. The store was called Riflegear, and I actually found out about it because RifleGear has a location in Southern California where I used to purchase many firearms. I went into the store and was amazed. It was huge, posh, and had basically all of my dream guns that are practically banned for purchase in California due to the "safe gun roster".
I looked at two of my dream guns, a HK VP9 Match, and a HK SP5. When the guy brought the guns out of the case, I was in awe, handling the guns, hearing the slide rack back. He said, "If you have your Texas DL, and a credit card, I can have you out of here in 10 minutes." Hearing that, I almost cried. No 10-day "cooling off" period. No handgun purchasing limit. Just pure unadulterated Pro-2A FREEEEEDOM!
But alas, it was not to be, I hesitantly told him I was just visiting Texas for a wedding and I just wanted to see the guns since they aren't available in California. He looked at me, kinda smiled, and said, "Well, time to move to Texas now, right?"
And I agreed with him, whole heartedly. I started my job search in November 2021, and I got a job offer a week ago to a great organization which offered me a great position in the city.
I'm still a month away from living in REAL AMERICA, but I just wanted to introduce myself, and remember, even in places like CommieFornia, there are some serious Pro-2A people who have had their rights stripped away and want to get them back badly. Appreciate what you have Texans, NEVER ever let the progressive left take an inch, because if you do, they will take a mile. Look at California as an example where Pro-2A patriots are treated like criminals and 2nd class citizens. We aren't even able to purchase Gen 4 Glocks (Canadian citizens can purchase one with zero issues). That's how bad it's gotten in CommieFornia.
