    In the woods...
I have picked up many small pieces of petrified wood on the property, but these two are, by far, the largest I've ever seen. The neighbor HAD a piece that was about 300 lbs and about 3' long.

They had a garage/yard sale last year and somebody saw it in their flower bed and offered him enough money that he sold it.

In Pasadena, TX, in the old part of town, there is a house that is completely covered/sided in petrified wood. It was unusual, but not very attractive. I can't imagine where you would get that much petrified wood!

Never thought I'd be sharing my rock hard wood with a bunch of guys. I think I'm gonna be sick. One found in the Sierras of California and one found in Toquerville Utah.

There's actually a decent argument that this is more likely from the great flood. Wood doesn't fossilize in just any conditions.

What would we expect to find if there had been a world wide flood?
Billions of dead things buried in rock layers laid down by water all over the earth.

Now what do we actually find?

Very true. Most likely a time when the earth's crust shifted and pulled entire continents under ocean waters - only to be thrust back above the surface during another shifting of the crust.

On the Biblical timeline, Noah's flood happened too late to result in fossilized wood.

But, there is always the possibility that God created the earth, including fossilized wood, to give it a bit more "rustic" look.

That presumes that fossilization takes a very long time, and also relies on very, very subjective radiocarbon dating which is a controversial thing.
