So we know Abbott is very likely to sign 2A Sanctuary bill and the Constitutional Carry bill, but I really would like the suppressor freedom to pass as well that would be amazing.

It will - but don't run out and build one. You do NOT want to be the test case for the ATF to take up to the USSC - it gets expensive.

I was more interested in the exemption to wait times and stuff. Do you know if the bill exempts that horrid wait time?

That's for the Federal Tax Stamp - totally different animal. THIS bill says you don't need a Federal stamp if it's made and kept in Texas. So far, the ATF's prosecuting those in other states trying it.

I think the ones prosecuted were people who were building and selling them over internet pages like facebook marketplace.

Building and using your own and not being a showman about it if the feds come knocking an unregistered suppressor is probably your least worry.

Will I be building and using suppressors after sept 1 Nope I have enough registered for now.

    Just a friendly notice.
This thread, along with the others in our new sub forum (permitless carry) will be moderated more heavily than what most of us are used to.
Tomorrow, God willing, our governor will sign into law, a bill that legalizes the personal carry of a handgun.
Once that occurs, the focus in this area of TGT will be on educating ourselves and any non member who comes across it, with the clearest and truest interpretations that we can possibly present. Off topic "discussions" and posts will be removed.
I'll be as fair as I can.

Ok. Short of having a lawyer with the appropriate specialization reply to the posts, how are we going to ensure that?
Things like basic eligibility, what posted signs mean, prohibited places etc., are mostly straightforward and answers can be found in the Penal Code. Other things won’t he so easy. Other than that, it’s not any different than any information on the internet.

When I first suggested this sub-section, it was simply with the intent of parity…we have an LTC specific sub-section so it only makes sense to have a Permitless Carry sub-section. It doesn’t help those who wish to exercise this right if they have to weed through eleventy billion LTC threads and posts for permitless carry needle in the haystack.

Besides, LTC holders will have enough changes to digest due to HB1927 on their own.
