Tell them Academy gets their major shipments of ammunition, especially 9mm, on Sunday mornings.I picked up 10 boxes of 7.62x51 mm FMJ Aguila ammo. I got it at Academy Sports maybe half an hour ago. It was the last ten boxes they had. As I started to walk away from the shelves, a young black guy walks over to where it had been and bends over as if looking to see if there was more on the back of the shelf. I turned around and went over to him and asked if he was looking for that caliber telling him I'd part with a few if he wanted them. He said it was not what he was looking for and thanked me. As we were talking, a 50ish white guy with a woman squeezes between me and the young guy, bending and twisting to try to see what I have in my basket and says to me something very close to these words 'you know if that's nine, they won't let you have it all'. I told him thanks (in a rather sarcastic tone) and something to the effect that I did not need to be educated by him when it comes to buying ammo at Academy Sports. The rude arsehat probably would have fallen on his face had he bent & twisted any more, in-between me and the other guy, to see what was in my basket. I was kind of surprised he did not follow me to the register to see for sure if it was 9mm or not and to see if they told me I could not buy it all. Maybe I should have offered him some advice, get there at 0900 and wait on line every day until it's in stock if he wanted any 9mm.
Thanks for the laugh.Tell them Academy gets their major shipments of ammunition, especially 9mm, on Sunday mornings.
I am tired of being told not to buy too much when I am following their posted limits. It seems like the younger staff enjoying their sense of "power" or to be a good socialist enforcing rationing. I was at another Academy when the staff something about the customer buying five cases of 12 gauge.I was able to get 5 boxes of Hornady Black 7.62x39 and 5 boxed Hornady Black 6.5 Grendel at the Academy in College Station. Had same kind of run in with an as$ clown telling thats to much ammo and they will not sell me that much. I went to the customer service counter and rolled gold and guess what, no problem buying it.
