Well, one thing we found out, don't bring your little 9mm to a 5.56 fight!

I bought my Rem 700 Varmint Special back in 1970 when I was a young Lt in the USAF, so I could get some military ammo to shoot, yes I know about the warnings about 5.56 in a .223, but done it in that rifle for 50 years with no problems, and a lot of once fired free brass at the time for reloading. Strictly an economic move on my part at the time. I have since gotten and or built 4 AR's in different configurations.

Why are American civilians (particularly) in love with this round when there are so many more styles and sizes out there! The round was invented decades ago for combat, to be accurate at mid and longer ranges. If only more people would have instead purchased rifles chambered in different sizes, there would not be such a shortage right now. I do not own a rifle chambered in 5.56, although I have experience firing 5.56. I'm worried for my fellow countrymen who cannot purchase ammo or have to pay much higher prices.
    Are you drunk bub?
As a proud American I own multiple firearms in multiple chambers foreign and domestic.

I’m building a 6mm ARC in an AR15 platform. It is:

    More accurate
Longer range (better than a 6.5 Grendel and 308 Win)
Harder hitting similar to a 243 Win
With the right barrel, heavier bullets than 243 Win
Also now a military round with limited issue
Large variety of 243 bullets for reloaders
Excellent for whitetails, pigs, and varmints
    Lighter than an AR10

I have read many posts about consolidating calibers, get it down to 3, or 2, or 1. Now, when ammo is scarce, caliber diversity is an advantage.
