Let's be honest, nobody really knows how to handle this type of an epidemic. We all saw Resident Evil.

The only way to get a high poll number is if nobody dies and the disease is gone. The public is just sooo stupid.

    Really?

We handled worse before without shutting down the state, destroying lives, livelihoods, businesses and the economy. And this damage will linger long after the virus is gone.

Must I repeat myself? It was rather clear.

Oh great one, I am glad you know how to handle an epidemic. Perhaps you should be the one consulting the CDC.

No it wasn't clear. You didn't tell us how to handle an epidemic. You just are angry about the state shutting down. No solutions. Why don't you tell us how this should have been treated. Oh please don't bother. Glock vs 1911 would be more interesting.

I don't know how to handle an epidemic and I don't think you or anyone else knows how short of nuking a city where it starts before it spreads and that may not work. Made a great movie plot.

Go see Resident Evil. Pretty good kick ass movie series.

Half the unhappy people probably think he went to far and the other half think he didn’t go far enough.

The biggest difference in this epidemic vs previous recent events is the media and democrats pushing an end of the world narrative 24/7.

You can't read. At least you seriously lack comprehension skills.

How did we respond to epidemics before? We didn't panic. We didn't shut everything down. We survived just fine.

We could have done that again.

I realize you want this virus to be the black plague and you are running in the greatest fear of it. But it ain't the black plague.

Get it and get over it.

I agree Texas isn't doing well and I think it is probably somewhat due to Gov. being too quick to try to open things and get the economy up and running as fast as possible. I'm not ready to condemn him for doing that because I don't think anyone has the magic answers on this problem.

I think leaning towards having those people that are most vulnerable take responsibility for themselves and staying home and minimize exposure. The rest of the world needs to get out and get busy. Hopefully a good vaccine is going to be available this year or by early next year and we can finally get this thing under control.

I don't think this pandemic of the Chinese flu is going to be anywhere near as bad as it is going to be if Biden is elected, especially of the dems take over the Senate. Then having the Chinese virus might be the better option.

Maybe a 102 years ago. People have short memories.

    Let me add something.

Sometimes what you DON'T do is just as important as what you do.

Don't kill the patient with the cure. Bleeding head wound? Don't put a tourniquet around the neck to stop the bleeding.

Don't let a hasty course of action cause more damage.

This virus is going to run its course, as all of them do. Trying to "kill" it with lockdowns, etc. will not be successful. The only thing that will stop the virus is reaching herd immunity. Let the vulnerable self isolate, help them. Let everyone else get on with life. Some will get the virus. But since they are not among the vulnerable, the overwhelming odds are that they will get over (if they ever knew they had it all). Avoid destroying people's lives, jobs, the economy, etc.

    Perhaps this explains better.
