Old or new?
I've had origional Bushmasters that were every bit as good as colts. They had samne receiver manufacturer's etc. Pre and post ban IIRC. That means 1990s and early 2000s
First you gotta make sure it's a real EOTech. Forgive me if I'm wrong but I'm assuming by how you described it you're not that familiar with them. Goto EOTech website and they have info on how to tell a fake. There are a gazillion fakes and you have to know how to tell the difference. Dont want to pay 300 bucks for a 25 dollar chicom sight.
Second what kind of bushmaster. They have carbon fiber models that had reputations of not always running. Does it have back up sights or a carry handle too?
Also ARs quality revolve mainly around assembly and gas systems. Ofcourse there are premium parts but let's face it ..they arent always necessary or worth the money nowdays.
You wanna check the BCG assembly and stakeing on the cas key. And bolt and carrier steel.. check the front sight gas block. Beyond that there are a gazillion different opinions on all the parts pieces and their brands and importiants of said brands. If it's a plain Bushmaster unmolested checking assembly is most important. Really all you can do on a used gun. Besides remember that a premium bolt carrier group can be had for 50 to 75 bucks if you watch prices well.
Also check the barrel extension for rough finishing on the lugs and also feed ramps. This is an area that gets lost in corner cutting but also one that usually fixes itself after a bit of use. You check it to gage quality on stuff you cant see.
So a used EOTECH is 250 to 300 dollars +/-. A used bushmaster is right now, not knowing the model and inspecting the parts, 450 to 500 dollars +/-.
Always break down the cost of packages like this to make sure you're getting a good deal. In this case if everything checks out I wouldn't get heart burn over that price for those two as a package. A fair deal probably in your favor a bit.
Be prepared, a dozen people will come along with different opinions and that's the way it is in ARs, aka legos for adults.
There are Bushmaster heaters and brand snobs. That's just the way it is with ARs.
