    So you've got squat.

My wife has been very successful running a music school that teaches all ages, but focuses mostly on children from K-12, and, as you noted, the problem is certainly a part of running a private lesson based business.

Besides carrying a full load of students herself, she hires other professional musicians, obviously proficient in their instruments to the point that many have come from the Houston Ballet, as well as the Houston Symphony, as teachers for the kids.

Her company is in it's 30th year, and she recently contracted to provide the entire Music and Drama Department for an equally successful private Jr/High school.

She somewhat mitigated the no-show problem by giving a discount for monthly and quarterly lesson fees, and then, and most importantly, allowing walk-ins, via group text messages, on a FCFS basis to fill any sudden vacancy.

The kids, and their parents use their phones to alert/text her, and each teacher, when they can't make a lesson (they give automatic makeups for missed lessons that have been paid for, without question), the teachers let all their students know, via group text, of any suddenly available slot, and the kids vie with each other to fill them.

While it obviously won't work for everyone, the group text communication has been particularly helpful in keeping her teacher's loaded with students.

Just something to think about ... ya never know.

Anywho, a massive military transport...appeared to be moving sooo slooow that I pulled over for a bit, literally waiting for it to drop from the sky because it's size, movement, and my perception was that it couldn't possibly remain airborne.

Sounds like a C-5. Your description of ‘falling out of the sky’ is appropriate.

There has been a C-5 squadron at Kelly Field in San Antonio for as long as I can remember.

Before you added the link I did find that one, another good story. <thumbsup emoji>

Years ago I was traveling Texas but can't for the life of me remember where. Waco? San Antone? Somewhere farther west?

Anywho, a massive military transport (C130??) was doing a low pattern. I swear it looked like 500' AGL but was probably 1000+. It appeared to be moving sooo slooow that I pulled over for a bit, literally waiting for it to drop from the sky because it's size, movement, and my perception was that it couldn't possibly remain airborne.
I have seen the same a few times about the same height.

While I admit to not knowing much about military planes I assume they are just using pure raw power to overcome the aerodynamics needed for such slow maneuvers.

I assume you are told in advance how the system works and probably have the option to not be included in that particular communication.

It sounds like most of the people want to be notified of changes to scheduling.
