Good point. When I attended my orientation at Addicks, the president of the club summarized the rules in that regard as "Don't even wear a holster on this range." Saying that Bayou is...

...not...oriented towards any of the action pistol sports...

...is an epic understatement.

Update Ben: a sign in front of Texas Tactical this morning saying doubletaps allowed!
I didn't stop by, and there may be qualifications/limitations but this is a pleasant turn of events and could earn my business.

I've shot there and that sign has been up for as long as I've been aware of the place. They're perfectly willing to allow rapid fire at a rate that would make other indoor ranges shut you down. I didn't ask about specific qualifications; they merely said they had to "check you out" first. The RSO put it as "Keep the bullets on the target, off the floor, off the ceiling, off the walls, and you're good to go."

I get the impression that if you tell the RSO you'd like to shoot quickly, he'll stand behind you, observe, and then give you a thumbs up or down. If I get there again before you do, I'll lock down the details and report back here.

It's only logical that they allow some rapid fire. After all, they welcome full auto shooting.

BTW, on some days (Mon-Thur, I think) they run a "12 before 2" promotion where the range fee is $12 (that's $6 off) if you start shooting before 2PM.

Crash I bring my own steel targets to the range I shoot at, which is the Badlands Gun Range off of Country Road 615 in Dayton.

Shoot Point Blank is opening soon in Humble. 1960 west of 59, behind Cavenders. Sportsman's Outlet has been here for many years,sometimes crowded due to leo qualifying.

I went to Trinity Armory Gun Range this weekend. Very nice facility. It was my 1st time at the range. The owner is a veteran & a nice guy. I spoke to a few of the employees & they were friendly & helpful as well... as was the RO.

In your lane you can shoot 25, 50, 100, 200 & 300 yards without having to leave your stall. They call seize fire about every 30 minutes or so. I let that better than every hour like most ranges.

Good you need to qualify with range officer for $35 one time fee to holster it is a good range and friendly staff

Pasadena gun center is still a range, however they are renovating the range currently.
