Cops can get bored. Most can be cool.

When I was younger I was using a bank atm really late. At the time I was driving a 1973 ford ranger (half ton). Built up 390 and trans. Fun truck. Cop pulls me over as I’m sitting in the parking lot. Walks over shines his light and asked what I’m doing. Tell him. He then asked me if I have been drinking (it’s a college town). I say yes sir I’m enjoying this grape soda. I did have a grape soda I was drinking. We both smile and I know he’s thinking ok smart ass. He shines his light on the tachometer and asked me what’s under the hood. We talk, I pop the hood and we shoot the shit for a while.

Back in the day - when I monitored police radio traffic, I routinely heard the dispatcher relaying descriptive info on a dope-carrying vehicle from the narc to the marked unit reference who needed to be stopped. It usually ended with the cautionary "develop your own probable cause".

Ah, the good ol' days before Williamson County started using trunked scramblers. Whatever that is. I was listening to Round Rock PD and heard a complaint about a man driving recklessly and cursing other drivers. The location was very close to where I lived and the description of the vehicle soundly very close to my neighbor's truck.

Sure enough, a couple minutes later, the neighbor pulls into his driveway, stumbles to the door, and goes inside. About 3 minutes later a cop car pulls up in front of his house. The officer knocks on the door and talks to the neighbor for a while and leaves. I suppose he couldn't arrest him because he didn't actually see him operating the vehicle.

On the radio I heard the cop check back in with dispatch and the last thing he said was "We'll being seeing him again." He was right. A year or so later he was found dead in his living room, sitting in his sofa chair. Apparently a heart condition.

Cops Targeted me at the Saxet gunshow!
I hope this goes in this thread, if not I'm sorry.

I went to the saxet gun show with a few co workers today on my birthday. I went with a few buddies from work and ended up bought my 1st AR15. After leaving saxet i got something to eat and headed home. Either they were following me that whole time and i did not see them or they were waiting on my street to catch me.I can't figure out if i was targeted for buying the AR15 or if it was because my buddies were black. I hate bringing race into any discussion but i can't see to many other options.
    .
Were you carrying say, a BAG OF DONUTS in your other hand ? Maybe some Bear claws or some creme-filled Long Johns ? Maybe some sugar-coated donut holes ? Cops' noses are very sensitive to things like that...
BTW, I hope you had a Happy Birthday !

You guys ever watch live PD? In Green County MO they have a deputy named Winchell. I'll bet he gets lots of shit about Winchells doughnuts.

Wait, that's only funny if you remember Winchells Doughnuts.

See i do not believe that anyone called the cops because 2 of the 4 cops were in plain clothes. So I feel targeted for nothing other than buying a legal rifle and driving home.

If it was just about checking out a report, a warning could have been given. Instead they opted to write a ticket. Now i have to pay that because decided to buy a rifle on my Birthday. The other thing that bothers me is that the 3 cars leaving the show never used a blinker. I did up to the point i pulled into my driveway because no cars were driving on the street at the time. Like i said I'm just trying to make sense of the situation because I did nothing wrong. I purchased the rifle legally, i have no criminal record, i never even purchased ammunition for the damn rifle.

Did you file a complaint with the police department? I would start with that first and have your ticket dismissed. they admitted they targeted you for some reason and constituted harassment once they realized all your transaction were legal. It sounds to me they thought you were making straw purchases and profiled you and your friends big time.

I had a pair of Birkenstock shoes that I wore & wore had them resoled twice & re sewn once. they were my airport & bush camp shoes in africa. If they still made them I'd still have a pair.

I also wore Birkenstock Proffessional clogs for years. They lasted & wore along time but were hell on my feet.

They still make them. I still wear them, my podiatrist recommended Birkenstock because I was having pain and numbness in my feet. They provide good arch support and do help.

Back on topic: I'd be annoyed to at the un-necessary ticket. And if I pulled up to my house and found 4 cops waiting I'd probably forget to signal too.
