I bought mine, nickel plated, for $425 a couple of years ago. I would have paid less for a blued model. Here’s a couple of images. Just trying to get the best offer honestly. A fair price.

I’ve been trying for years to buy one of my grandad’s guns. I’m willing to pay WAY over it’s “worth.”Imagine wanting to sell a gun that your grandpa gave to you...

Where on earth did you get a M29 for $425? I paid $800 for my M629 a few years ago.

My Gunny had previously talked about selling it. Then his wife got pregnant again and I bided my time until he asked again. He offered it at $450, I countered at $400 and we settled on $425. That was 2012.
My apologies. Thought it was nickel. Not a big revolver guy. Great gun though. I appreciate the info. That's a model 629. Stainless steel not nickel plated. You got a great price.
I had tried to buy it a year earlier at $500 and he said no. When his wife got pregnant I knew it was going to mine. He did ask me before I asked him though.Yep, you basically got the holy grail of deals. Someone on Gunbroker might get lucky with an auction and walk away with one for $600. $425 is unbelievable, even in 2012. Yours is a "no dash" model, the first model. It was made between 1979 and 1981.
Mine's also a 6" It's a great gun with really good balance. Mine's a 629-6. It's pretty neat to see all the little changes they made between yours and mine like the pinned barrel, the cylinder release, and the sights. Also that damned internal lock hole...

Hasn't this thread ventured far enough beyond shirting the rules yet?
The OP was given a link to the rules yet here this thread still sits.
Now it moves from an ad to an ad with bidding which is also against the rules.
Sometimes new members disappoint me with their blatant disregard of forum etiquette. What's worse is when members that know better join in.
My bad. I don’t really know how this forum works, apologies.

OH sure! Help run up the price of my greed.Un knot your knickers. I consider it as determining the value of a handgun, from that he can post a price in the correct place.
From Blue Book in 95% condition
29-1 $3000
29-2 "S" SN $1325
29-2 "N" SN $1000
29-3 and up model $650
As you can see it would behoove you to closely check the model #. If you actually determine it is unfired the values goes up from 50-75% on average.
If you're not a sentimentalist oil it well and put it away if you don't need the money. It will go up more in value than any saving account you can own.
I think I'd be very apprehensive in a deal with a virtual unknown!Still continuing to post here after post 32 over an hour ago...
