Watches too many movies.Guy shooting his friends colt python. A beautiful gun, even has the original box.
Anyways, guy loads it, amd flicks his wrist to close the cylinder.
Took all the restraint i could muster not to just take the gun away from him

AAARRRGGG...that aggrevates me........some try to do it on revolvers we are showing them.....I try to be nice...but damn....
So is that Mr. Idiot, or just Idiot?Yesterday at the range I saw a idiot load up and try to shoot .40 in a 45acp. Every time I would fire the cases would split and the pistol wouldn't cycle. After a few rounds I asked a buddy what is wrong with my ammo. He told me it was a oversized chamber which made me to check the ammo. That's when I realized that I was loading 40 into my 45acp 1911.
My 2 boxes of ammo had .45 AUTO on the label but I had put 40 in the boxes. It was so long ago that I didn't remember.
It was a little embarrassing but nothing was hurt. I still had a good time at the range.

I'm okay with either one since I learned a good lesson. So is that Mr. Idiot, or just Idiot?

I have to agree, much less idiocracy since I moved from Odessa Outdoors (public) to Midland Shooter's Association (members and guests of members).I'll be real honest with y'all that public ranges scare me. One look around at the bullet holes in places there never should be is what made me join a club. Now I'm not saying their aren't people at the club who do plenty of stupid things, there are just less of them. An annual membership fee is a big deterrent to the I just bought my first gun & I'm watch a video on my phone to learn how to load it!
Yeah it sounds like a mouse fart and I could see the bullet barely clear the barrel. Plus it wouldn't cycle the slide.Didn't the sound give it away? When I accidentally fired a few .380s from my 9mm Sub2000, it went BANG BANG BANG plop WTF? BANG BANG plop plop something ain't right here... *
*over-dramatized for clarity. In reality, with the muzzle brake and heavier bolt I installed, it sounds no different than a 10/22. More of a zing than a BANG.
Speaking of bullets striking where they shouldn't -I'll be real honest with y'all that public ranges scare me. One look around at the bullet holes in places there never should be is what made me join a club.
I've handed out my share of band aids as well.

Once upon a time there was a skeet range dangerously close to an RC airplane range east of Austin. A plane strayed across the skeet range with predictable results.
Do tell. What sucks is having to hand out quick clot.

An indoor commercial range near me used to allow instructors to give private lessons on the premises. (Heck, if you wanted to pay for it, you could rent a whole range and do any sort of instruction you wanted but their rates for whole-range rental were so high I don't know anyone who actually did that.) They no longer do so.
I remember many years ago asking the manager on duty to join me at the window where you could observe one of the ranges. I asked about the pair in the far left lane. He explained that the man was an instructor and was with a student. I asked him to stand by and watch a minute.
This "instructor" then proceeded to demonstrate his superior skills by doing mag dumps at a B27 no more than 5 yards away. Said mag dumps were accompanied by lots of very loud commentary along the lines of "That would have hit a kidney and he'd be down for the count!" every time he managed to miss center mass. At least every third shot of his fast mag dumps could be seen sparking off the left wall, meaning he was missing center mass by at least three feet even though the target was only 10-15 feet away from him.
It even dawned on the student that this guy was dangerous. She backed away from him with a truly scared look on her face.
The manager thanked me for bringing him over and said something about not allowing that guy to instruct on that range anymore. Shortly thereafter, their policy changed and they only allowed instructors to use the range if the courses were done in conjunction with the range. You could no longer just show up with a student and give a private lesson. (Yes, there are obvious problems enforcing that but at least they tried to discourage every yahoo who wanted to hang out a shingle as an instructor.)
Yeah, kill all the flys you want.
