Model 42 Winchester Skeet Gun & an ASI pump out of Turkey.

What I'd like another of was the Italian-made LUPARA, a 12 gauge DB with hammers & 18.1" barrels, that was stolen when some CREEP stole my antique PU last year.
(That gun stopped many a bar fight when I was an active LEO. = NEVER had to fire a single time at a 2-footed creature BUT it saved me being savaged by a very large & AGGRESSIVE cur-dog not long before I retired . = ONE load of #4 Buck was more than he could live with.)

One good thing about a shotgun is is can kill anything.

    bigwheel,

    VERY TRUE.
The FAVORED weapon to STOP or TURN wounded dangerous game like a CAPE BUFFALO is a 10 or 12 gauge shotgun & loaded with 000 or 00 BUCKSHOT.
(The famous PH Harry Selby was NEVER known to be without his SxS 10-bore MATADOR & loaded with 000B, when the quarry was a WOUNDED Buff.)

I keep a shotgun next to the bed, but other than that I rarely shoot it. Unless you're into skeet, trap or bird hunting it's not what I would call a precision firearm for target shooting.

    To All,

IF you don't live in a "safe neighborhood" (there are NO such "safe neighborhoods" in 2018. - NONE.), as a retired LEO a shotgun is THE weapon for repelling an armed home invasion particularly during the hours of darkness.
(Most every criminal has some idea of what a load or more of BUCKSHOT, fired from a covered/concealed position, will do.)

My FAVORITE is #4 Buck for in-town home defense & #1, 0 or 00 for farm defense, where ranges may be more than inside the typical home.

Are you sure you're in the right forum?

That's what the doctors tell me, but I'm not sure, now that you mention it. I could use a shotgun, but the idea of lead balls bouncing off rubber walls scares me, and those imaginary intruders can duck fast.

Besides, I didn't take home ec., .....been wiping up sheet for years, but I'd have to call Martha to know how to deal with massive blood stains.

Only ever bought 1 shotgun. Started with an 870. Added an old school folding stock I found at a gun show. Then I extended the tube magazine. Can't think of a reason to replace it. But I'd love a hammer coach gun to set next to it in the safe. Of course I've been meaning to buy an AR-15 since '78. Gotta get around to that.
