now measure the butt of the stock and buy a screw-on LimbSaver

It may have been shortened. Stock without buttpad is about 12" to the pointy tip of the end that meets the receiver. I'll buy a screw on.

    Glad you got it.

So am I. Just holding the barrel, you can tell it's hefty and was built well. Definitely didn't get that feeling with my former 870. This thing screams quality.

Limbsavers are good, and you will need it as Defenders kick pretty good.

I owned and shot an 18" 870, a 20" M590A1, and an 18" Defender at the same time.
I thought the felt recoil on the Defender was the heaviest.

The buttpad is a limbsaver but the clearly crappy variant. it's pretty loose on there. I'll swing by the old job after work and see if they've got anything good

Yes sir, surprisingly minimal finish wear for a 34 year old pump gun.

Put five 9 pellet 2 3/4" 00 buck rounds down range today. Don't have much ammo for shotguns. Ran through em fine, as expected for such few rounds lol.

Midwest Gun Works still has some original and after market parts for Winchester 1200/1300 shotguns. They even have some Winchester barrels in stock if your interested.

    http://www.midwestgunworks.com/page/mgwi/ctgy/winchester-model-1300

good stuff, i'm going to check them out.

That model will cycle the mini buckshot shells with no modifications. I wish I had never sold mine.

I've never seen mini buckshot shells locally, but glad to know they work. I oughta order some one day.

Pfft you're just jelly that my 18" barreled old school crim killer holds 7 in the tube from the factory with no extension, where you needed an extension
