Mine happens to be Wright brand Bacon with a apple wood smoked flavor. In my opinion it is one of the best smelling and yummy of all. But that's just me.

Sent from the Bacon isle at your local grocery store.

Wrights is the cats meow, unfortunately due to health reasons I have succumbed to uncured
    nitrate free bacon.

Blue Ribbon thick sliced Hickory Smoked...cooked on the grill over lump hickory coal.
Sprinkle a little raw sugar on it.....
Don't turn your back on it because it will flare up and turn to carbon real quick.
    Great...now I'm starving again.....

You can make your own bacon in a brown sugar/salt cure without nitrates. It will not keep as long as regular cured bacon but it is a good substitute. We buy pork butts when they are on sale and trim the bone out. Put equal parts of salt and brown sugar with enough to cover the meat very well and place in a big zip lock bag in a bowl in the fridge. Turn over daily for 10 days. At the end of 10 days you must rinse the meat very well then soak the meat in cold water and change the water several times over a two hour period. You can then slice and fry at this point or you can bake at 225 degrees until a internal temperature of 160 is reached and then cool. It can then sliced an eaten like lunch meat. You can add liquid smoke, maple syrup or other flavors to the brown/sugar mix in the bag if you like. I often roll mine in black pepper for peppered bacon. Here is a link if you want to make it using cures. Wild Ed's Texas Outdoors: Old Time Homemade Buckboard and Canadian Bacon
