I had the stainless version of this years ago. 7.5” 44 mag, bought it from a former member of this forum. Loved the gun, but traded it down for something far less valuable and some cash down the line.

The gun soaked up the recoil and was quite a tack driver.

Yep. That's my experience too. And as a lefty, I absolutely prefer the cylinder release on the Rugers vs. S&W/Colt/etc. I think for right-handers, it's less of an issue.

It brings a small tear to my eye when I see somebody sell a gun on the forum and then the buyer post about it here.

Except when Robert bought the K31. That was a lot of tears because I wanted it too.
I found that because I was bored and just going back through the last year in the classifieds to see what I missed out on while I was away for work.

When I saw it, and who was selling it, I was absolutely shocked that it had not sold. I thought for sure that Shorts has just forgotten to close the ad.

Sent a PM and whaddaya know? Still available.;)

Sometimes it pays to look back at what you may have missed.

Made a deal today that did not suck even a little bit.

A shooting buddy has been tempting and taunting me with this potential acquisition for quite some time.

He says it, the HK P7M8, is "not his style" and I've never asked for an explanation.
Not my first one and I love them . I think they are forged from unobtanium and blued with unicorn semen.

He's a revolver guy and shot a revolver of mine yesterday.
A nice revolver. Very nice. I could replace it for about $1500 probably.
He had to have it. I asked him twice and only twice "Are you sure?"
He was sure. Drove to me today. Straight-up swap.

It's as close to 100% as any 1/3-century-old gun can be. Early 1984. IE Code. 84XXX serial.
What look like a touch of scant of worn edges in the pics is dust and my fresh protective preservative coat.
Missing just the little firing pin removal widget. I'll be searching for one.

Nope. His, highly motivated, deal did not suck for me at all.
