Pludge router with a straight bit. Then just use biscuits. Clamp it up. Run it through the planer. Trim off the excess on the table saw. Then sand it with 120 grit or lighter grit. Then stain it.

That may sound easy to you, but I don't know what half of those words mean let alone how to do it.

Plunge router ah've got. Clamps ah've got. Planer ah don't have. Table saw ah have. Problem is, ah've also got angle grinders, 250 amp mig, 250 amp stick welder, oxacetylene torch an' plasma cutter (rated to 3/4" steel). Rough in stuff ah've good on - but the "fine cuttin'" is just something I ain't set up for.

hehehe - yeah, I do. Still thinkin' on settin' up a smith type workshop, but doubt I'll do it. I've always preferred workin' steel over wood - I've built everything from custom brush guards to lift stations - but I've also built barns, outbuildings and cabins from scratch. Just something I enjoy doin'. I built my 16 x 20 workshop in the back yard with some help setting the roof beam and shingles, and closed it in with home built double dutch door built with tongue-and-groove cedar 1 x 4's. Neat part about that was using the VERY large clamps (6' reach) that'd originally belonged to my Grandfather!

Country-Boy, I wouldn't be too eager to be Rednecks neighbor. All his redneck kids 'n' kinfolk out there, and parking on his street can get tricky. Although the BBQ can be right near awesome, I should know I'm the secondary chef being his eldest boy.

Yeah....but what he doesn't say is that he thinks "secondary chef" means "Chief Sampler".......<G>

Hey, someone has to make sure you cook the chicken all the way through.

What he needs to do is suck it up and build a new smoker. I mean, after all the one he has is about 15 or so years and it is burnin long and hard when he uses it. Hell, one year we had about 40lbs of chicken, 20+ pounds of sausage, 5 racks of ribs, and a shoulder clod.

uh-huh. Jest make darn sure that ya ensure to measure twice and pour once this time around. Ah know fer a fact that Mom wants a gazebo for the back yard instead of a second concrete slab.
