Sweet! I was beginning to feel like Pilgrim, no love for the games I worked on... glad to see someone representin' with the old C&C...

Loved the C&C series. Got a lot of joy from trying to build an impenetrable base. IMO, the move in current RTSs to steer away from good base-building mechanics is a big mistake...

Big fan of the XCOM series (even Apocalypse), also Stronghold and Stronghold:Crusader. Been playing an old, old copy of Starflight recently.

Honestly, I never play video games.

When I worked in and lived on the prison grounds, it was so damned boring out there that I was going bonkers! I stayed there in a 24' RV then came home on the weekends.

I bought a PS2 and a pile of games, thinking that it would help pass the day after work. WRONG! I couldn't stick with it. I got off work at 11am and actually sat on my little porch and watched the grass grow! I have never been so isolated but the video games didn't help a bit.

    Top Ten of All Time:

    1. Wasteland (Commodore 64) - precursor to Fallout Series, pure awesomeness.
    2. Neuromancer (Commodore 64) - Based on the William Gibson Novel - cyberpunk RPG!
    3. X-Com (PC) - If you missed this one, you'd never understand. Ahead of its time.
    4. Unreal Tournament <insert number here> (PC) - I miss tele-fragging people.
    TIE
    4. Quake Wars: Arena (PC) - a blast to play on LAN. Fun mission objectives (not just CTF and Arena).
    5. Silent Storm (PC) - squad level, turn-based alternate reality WWII RPG strategy! The best game no one's heard of.
    6. Freelancer (PC) - What all of those other space sims wished they were.
    7. Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic (PC) - I felt like I was playing a Star Wars movie!
    8. Tribes: Ascend (PC) - Like Unreal Tournament on steroids.. I wish more people still played online.
    9. Smite (PC) - What? Play gods from different mythological pantheons online for free? (This is what I'm stuck on now)
    10. Fallout (PC) - They kept getting crappier after the first. The second one was passable ("Hey, I've got an idea - let's take Fallout and add a bunch of crap to it and forget about gameplay mechanics and story!") and Bethesda absolutely ruined the series with part 3 (Is it an RPG or a shooter - wait, both? Why can I kill a super mutant at level 2? I HATE YOU BETHESDA!!!)

    Honorable Mentions:

    11. Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas 2 (PC) - because I wasted so many days of my life playing LAN games with my brother.
    12. Starcraft (PC) - Maybe should have broken the top ten.
    13. Diablo II (PC) - I think this is the only game I've taken the time to beat more than once.
    14. Just Cause 2 (PC) - The only game I've ever played where you can parasail by grappling onto passing cars.
    TIE
    15. GTA 3 (Xbox) - I never finished it. I had too much fun stealing cars and running over people. It was a blast.
    16. Rise of Empires (PC) - Like Starcraft but with ancient civilizations.
    TIE
    17. Total War: Rome (PC) - Strategy, diplomacy, empire building... Ancient Rome... Nuff said.
