^^ being on the receiving end, yep. I've bought a lot of guns & other stuff from people on here and every transaction has been a breeze. Any regrets I've had were all of my own making.

I'd cut the people asking stupid questions some slack. I usually at least google and go to gunbroker or somewhere to get some basic information about something I'm not familiar with. I've only been in this game a few years and what I know now makes me realize how stupid some of my early questions might have seemed.

Because I'm at a certain financial point in life, I don't sell to the general public for the many reasons listed in the OP's post.

I either sell to someone I know, like my closest neighbor, or give whatever it is, like an RV and another time a boat, motor and all accessories to my daughter.

I can't bear to deal with knuckleheads who low ball, whine, or are just people I wouldn't otherwise have anything to with.

I'm available for adoption. Since I'm in my 60's so I won't borrow much.

yeah, had my share of low ballers
thats the dumbest thing to do as a buyer is low ball a guy over a text when you haven't even seen the gun.

In 2009 to I had a buddy with quite a collection who had some health problems and was moving to Chicago to be near family who wanted me to help him liquidate about 70 firearms.
I did sell about half on TXGunTrader and half at gun shows.

The two things I did that seemed to minimize the hassles and the flakes was:
    1. Set a price and say "Firm" and also posted that "I'll reduce it by 5% or 10% every Friday at noon till sold" and I simply stuck to the math. I priced it honestly from the outset. If lowballed, which was uncommon after a while, I'd respond "Check back Friday".
    2. I'd include a link to an internet review of the gun and a copy of the page from the blue book. That prevented a lot of silly questions.

    It went pretty well.

I sold about 10 that I'm kicking myself for not keeping......Colts and old Winchesters.
