Silly goose....
I do miss Colorado Goose hunting, but then I remember they legalized pot and built strip and outdoor malls everywhere that I used to hunt at...After laying in mud freezing my limbs off I came to realize you are right.
Went to a fancy new range in New Braunfels with my dad.
We were both having a great range day when I hear any angry, loud male voice.
Turns out it was a guy yelling at his wife a few lanes over. Just verbally lambasting the poor woman.
I really felt bad for her.
They'd both been shooting laser gripped guns poorly for an hour.
Bet that's not the only time he's been an asshat to his kid.....Witnessed a very similar scenario.
Dad w/ his son. Kid was about 12 or so.
Dad had some uber recoil rifle in .783 Magnumblaster.
Kid fired the rifle. Got the snot kicked out of him. He didn't want to do that again. He refuses to shoot the gun again. Dad starts yelling and criticizing the boy. MAKES him fire the rifle again. Kid is crying at this point.
Dad continues to force kid to shoot a couple of more times, calling him a puss etc.
Kid now HATES shooting and probably will never try it again.
Way to go Dad.
I hope to see my shit at a range soon.
Why would you go poop on a gun range?
This sort of thing drives me nuts. Some 20+ years ago there was a woman I dated and thought I might marry. However, she constantly verbally berated her 11-year-old son for not being manly. That's a huge oversimplification but it gets the basic point across.Way to go Dad.
Unfortunately, I believe that's how some monsters are created also. This sort of thing drives me nuts. Some 20+ years ago there was a woman I dated and thought I might marry. However, she constantly verbally berated her 11-year-old son for not being manly. That's a huge oversimplification but it gets the basic point across.
It was pretty obvious to me that her kid was/was going to be gay. That didn't bother me. I would have been happy to be a good father to him and would have accepted him no matter how he turned out. She, however, constantly picked at him to the point he was horribly depressed. She was producing a son who was either going to run away to San Francisco or be closeted and miserable for the rest of his life.
That's the kind of sticking point that will torpedo a marriage. There were arguments. When it became clear that she would not change, I broke it off.
I just can't hang out with people who treat kids like that.
I've fired a .40 S&W in a .45ACP, so I can't really point fingers.
... at least the RSO said he’ll keep a close eye on him.
I had the opposite experience, once.Honest to god, I swear I thought the older guy at the range was trying to shake my hands to congratulate me on my wife's shooting today.
Alas, he was like "Thank you for your service!", upon which I had to disappoint him. A tan baseball hat with a tan flag don't make me a veteran of any kind, of any service.
