My wife told me an Indian nation seceded yesterday. I said "good for them" and "if texas doesn't do it, I wonder how I'd look in tribal gear". Seems to me the country is too stupid to fix at this point unless all the pollsters are lying to us about the percentages.

I'm kinda curious on what they did, I mean they already have their own government? Did they just tell the US we don't need your aid too?

I swore allegiance to the United States Of America and don't take that lightly. The figgin' fools who drove her into the ground are the enemy, not the USA. I don't think I can sign up for secession but as Texas goes, I will go.

Funny, I swore allegiance to the flag and the republic for which it stands and unless we're talking about a different pledge, so did you. The country I see now is vastly different than the republic that flag once represented.

I swore an oath to the Constitution that these A$$holes in DC are using as toilet paper. If there ever is a secession we need to ransack DC and take that document as well as a few others with us.

My evil villain associates and I have been planning the next secession for many years and our plans are coming along at an acceptable rate. Soon enough you will all learn to fear my iron fist and merciless, icy heart. There is still time to apply for a henchman or slave-girl position in order to gain my otherwise impossible to attain favor. Requirements include the following:

1.) Ability to mindlessly obey orders without question
2.) Ability to cultivate a cult-like love and admiration for the all-knowing and powerful leader (me)
3.) Ability to lift objects over 70 pounds

All applications welcome; I am an equal opportunity dictator. I look forward to ruling you soon.

On the Lakota deal there isn't secession. They were just dissolving a treaty between two sovereign nations that they said was violated by the US.

The US Bureau of Indian Affairs doesn't recognize Means as the chief of all the Lakota tribes though. There's also several tribes under the "Lakota" heading, and he didn't speak to all of their tribal councils before heading off to DC. He went off half cocked w/o the formal, legitimate approval of his people.

I think secession can be a viable solution in some circumstances, and we should have provided procedures for doing it peacefully in the Constitution. I think it was one of those things seen as being "inherent" at the time, but isn't so obvious now (especially after the war of the states). I think not enough people would support it given our history and the inevitable pain and suffering it would cause. I'd definitely prefer that we fix America - give people back their freedom and take away the government's intervention in the markets so that the economy can self heal.

Texas secession won't happen IMO. Regardless of how much some of us would like it. Let's face it. We could make it without them, and we could cut off the Northern invasion. lol

We'd have to turn away refugees at the northern border so we didn't end up hosting a bunch of destitute Americans too!

There is already enough Californians in Texas for my liking. Personally we should figure out a way to move Austin to California... Won't do any good seceding otherwise...

That makes a little more sense about the lakotas.

at the risk of being a wet blanket - you secesh people are nuts....and i mean that in the most affectionate way possible

you're losing touch with reality and letting fear/panic take over your way of thinking

secession is not a solution - it's a trading of one problem for another (like divorce).

I served my country - and would do so again. I never swore any allegiance to Texas - as much as I LOVE living here......i'm an American first and foremost

that's all i've got - so feel free to flame/hate as much as you like! :)
