Another vote for Jcrntx cerakoting your mags. I don't believe that would be an issue, as I believe that the cerakote finish is very very thin. It's on the inside of my 10/22 receiver and that required no modifications for the bolt to slide freely. So yeah, cerakote is rust proof, so I imagine it would work perfectly fine.

Also, you can get it in your favorite color: pink.
