I did that a few years backI enjoy my stainless SP101 2.25” very much. I’ve decided not to carry 357 in it anymore though. I’ve dialed things back to 125gr 38+P

Any owners of this fine revolver? Based on the GP100 it’s probably one of the strongest built small frame revolvers. Available in the .357/.38, along with 9mm and .327 Fed offerings. Never was a fan of Rugers centerfire semi autos, but their revolvers all seem over built.
My Montana husband did OWN and CARRIED a Ruger SP101 in 357Magnum for MANY years. He had NO issues with that gun at all. It was an older SP101 and he owned it BEFORE I moved out west. I do NOT know the exact year when he bought it.
When he got OUT of many firearms and consolidated many of HIS firearm calibers - he SOLD that Ruger SP101 revolver.
Eventually ALL of his 357Magnum handguns and pistol caliber RIFLES got sold in the 357Magnum CALIBER (SOME other calibers too.) INCLUDING what I gifted HIM in MY last and remaining S&W handguns AND in MY (And HIS!) RUGER s/a revolvers.)
One of his best friends bought his SP101 handgun immediately. The friend knew my husband's gun/guns and he shot them too. That friend bought several guns from my MT husband too.
That same friend bought some dies and other supplies from him too. My husband gifted some other supplies and STUFF to his friend and to other friends too.
I owned several RUGER RF and CF single action revolvers, over the years, but I NEVER owned a Ruger d/a revolver. I LOVED the RUGER s/a revolvers.
They were beautiful, sweet tack drivers and built like a tank! Late 90's and on. I only owned the NEW MODEL s/a revolvers bought NIB from the late 90's and on. Bought back east and out here.
I mainly owned SMITH and WESSON d/a revolvers, the ONE Glock 19 Generation 3 back east - sold that one back east, had some other Glock 19 pistols later on out here, 2 S&W semi automatic pistols, etc.
My husband did LIKE his former Ruger SP101 very much. He does NOT own any 357Magnum caliber handguns or rifles now.
My husband does own a RUGER Wrangler s/a revolver in 22lr ONLY (Not the Wrangler 22lr/22wmr convertible that came out recently.) and in the ALL black version. It is several years old. It was bought NIB from our dealer a couple of years ago around Christmas time.
Take care!
