What ammo are you shooting? We had a guy shooting monarch 55gr steel case that was keyholing at 25 yards, but it shot fine with other brands
The thing is I was able to shoot both 55 gr and 62 gr without issue until I bought some cheap ammo that I think were reloads.

Did some long range plinking in the dark with the help of the PVS30 mounted up front, 500 was no problem, 800 kicked my ass with crazy wind. This pvs 30 allows you to see up to 1400yds with no ambient light, and damn near a mile with.

I have used Federal XM193, XM855, PMC 62 gr, American Eagle as well.
Reading what you posted it sounded like just the reloads shot poorly.

Since using the reloads now it doesn't shoot anything well? Is that correct?

That must be the part I missed.

Have you copper and fouling scrubbed it?

My favorite range rifle ... a 1954 HRA Garand. This is pretty much a parts gun. I bought it with some really battered wood, a new-looking receiver in HRA original dark finish, a mix of really worn parts, and a shot-out 1945 Springfield barrel. Over time I found all HRA parts in original dark parkerized finish to build it out. It now has a Criterion barrel and a new walnut stock courtesy of Dean's Gun Restorations.

I got that dreaded low recoil shot out of one of those reloads. It hasn't shot the same since, regardless of ammo type that I buy.

Did you stack rounds in the bore? Have to punch a round out and use a steel rod?

A squib all on its own should have no effect on accuracy afterwards.

If you just want more than factory accuracy that’s fine too. No need to justify it here.

Did you check the barrel after that low recoil shot, or did you keep shooting?

Check the bore with a light. If you see a dark ring anywhere in the middle, then you ringed/bulged the barrel. That can have a detrimental effect on accuracy.

How bad is the gun shooting? Like 4" groups at 100 yards bad, or can't hit a dinner plate at 50 yards bad?

I quit firing as soon as I felt the low recoil. Extracted the cartridge, and let the rifle cool down for inspection. I didn't continue to fire the weapon and I simply went as normal and cleaned it without a major inspection of everything. It wasn't up until I went firing with friends that I noticed that the round were tumbling at about 25 meters. It has a 1:7 twist, and I've fired the two most common 5.56 gr available.

Winchester model 03. I just cleaned her up. Ready for the range. Takes only Winchester 22 ammo.

With all the talk of folks disappearing lately and me being about as busy as I've ever been with little time to post, figured I'd put these up (even if not the best pics), not something one sees every day...
