Luckily for us (gun owners), there aren't that many state legislatures in this country that follow what any one city does. Illinois follows what Chicago does. Yep. So many people in this country (on both sides) vote because of the D or R. Or they hear on their favorite daily TV or radio show who needs to be in office. No one wants to do their homework and vote with their own conscience anymore. Which, in essence, is one of the biggest problems with this nation anymore. So many people don't want to have to do anything that requires effort/work. Thus they just want to hear what they need to do and find a way to do it with the least amount of effort possible, thus we get idiots elected into office. And then again, there are some people that aren't afraid to work, but are just flat out stupid.

Man it bothers me so much how lopsided racism has become. I do not support it any way, shape, or form, but it's a two way street. So many people just let it slide because of past discrimination and such. But there's no excuse, from either side, for racism to occur. But it boils my blood that it is happening, and no one says a thing about it.

I anger slowly. Very slowly. Most things aren't worth the internal stress that anger brings.

But this is pushing in that direction. I don't mind if someone thinks they live in a better place than me. I'm happy for them. Hell, I love NYC, absolutely love the place whenever I visit.

However, this cavalier assumption that his is a superior culture to mine, that my culture should be eradicated, and the very offhandedness of the way he delivered the statement speaks volumes. It reveals a mindset of "I know what's good for you and I'll do it to you whether you like it or not", the sort of mindset that's entirely closed to considering alternate viewpoints but completely open to totally screwing over the lives of innocent people for their own good.

Don't do me any favors, Charlie. You won't like how I'll respond.
